THE CAUSE:
In 2005, Art and Sharon Schulze decided to channel their love of technology from the 20th century into something that all could enjoy by establishing a nonprofit and free-of-charge museum, the 20th Century Technology Museum, to display their collection. Over the years, their collection grew to include a multitude of items captured from the past such as toys, radios, typewriters, video games, experimental planes, automobiles, music players, and more. The museum caters to everyone; adults experience a trip of nostalgia, seeing the artifacts they recall from their past, while children bask in wonder and curiosity, learning about the strange-looking technology that is new to them (“Where’s the delete button on the typewriter?” “Why are those phones so big?”).
The 20th Century Technology Museum is located in the back portion of the building that houses the Wharton County Historical Museum. Most people do not
