SCJ BMCR Annual Meeting 2018

The Texas Caucus of the Black Methodists for Church Renewal (BMCR) invites you to the South Central Jurisdictional Annual Meeting! This year's theme is "The Journey" (inspired by Judges 18:5-6). Our primary focus is to prepare ourselves individually and collectively to navigate changes that may result from the Special General Conference session in 2019. In addition to business meetings, the three-day conference includes the following workshops and fellowship activities: The Journey: 20/20 Leadership (featured speaker: Dr. Cedrick Bridgeforth) Communion Service Ebony Bishops Panel Historic Journey Presentation A New Journey Presentation Spirit Celebration (Friday evening) The event agenda is continuing to be developed and may change. Since seating is limited, pre-registration is highly recommended (rates for on-site registration are slightly higher). Please register by October 18. ABOUT OUR FEATURED SPEAKER Rev. Dr. Cedrick D. Bridgeforth serves as a coach, consultant, and educator for nonprofit organizations. He earned a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership at Pepperdine University and a Master of Divinity degree at Claremont School of Theology. While completing his studies at Claremont, Cedrick worked as an admissions counselor and was later appointed Director of Alumni and Church Relations. In addition to serving as a pastor, Cedrick has served as Director of Academic Programs and Outreach and as a course instructor at the University of La Verne’s Ecumenical Center for Black Church Studies. He published a book, “Thoughts and Prayers,” in 2012, and is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. FAQs Is parking available? Yes. On-site parking is $8 per day.  Is other transportation provided? Transportation to the church hosting Thursday evening's communion service will be provided for registered guests. Attendees are responsible for all other arrangements. Who qualifies for the "Young Adult" registration rate? Anyone aged 18 to 35. May I pay by check? Yes.
