Pastel Society of Southeast Texas Members’ Show
The 2018 Members’ Show & Sale presented by the Pastel Society of Southeast Texas (PSST) is set for Saturday, September 8 through Saturday, September 29 at Arden’s Fine Art Gallery and Custom Framing, 1631 W. Alabama. Opening night on September 8 will include an artists’ reception and awards presentation from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Members’ Show & Sale is PSST’s annual exhibition open to all members of the organization. Houston-based artist Joe Clark, professor in the department of Art and Design at San Jacinto College North, will serve as Judge of Works for the 2018 Members’ Show and Sale. Mr. Clark is also the director of North Gallery at San Jacinto College and has an MFA in Painting from the University of Houston. Throughout the years, he has held art-related occupations including graphic design, publishing, illustration, printing and gallery assistant at Houston’s Moody Gallery. His work in the studio combines elements of painting, drawing and sculpture.
President Anne Maree Healey expects that most all of the membership will participate in the 2018 show. “2018 has been a banner year for the Pastel Society of Southeast Texas and the Members’ Show will celebrate not only our accomplishments, but also the talents of all the members,” says Ms. Healey. “Submissions range from impressionistic landscapes to exotic florals to seascapes and abstracts. All the paintings will be for sale, and we invited everyone to stop by Arden’s during the month of September and see the show.”
